In Support of Christel House

On May 30, 2018, Carlsbad Seapointe Resort hosted the Christel House Putt-Putt for Charity Mini Golf Tournament at its Dolphin Golfin’ putting green.
Christel House International is an organization that provides housing, meals, and a top tier education for children born into poverty. Seapointe's management company, Grand Pacific Resorts, is a longtime supporter and hosts an annual fundraiser - the RCI Christel House Open - where they raise over $50,000 to help #DriveOutPoverty. The Putt-Putt for Charity event was held prior to the larger golf tournament as an additional way to help raise money.
This year, Grand Pacific Resorts shared their commitment to corporate social responsibility with two graduate interns from Christel House who helped host Seapointe's mini-golf tournament. They were also on hand at the RCI Christel House Open, held at Shadowridge Country Club in nearby Vista, California, to greet players and meet the people who are making difference for students like themselves.
Zicri and Charley (Pictured: Zicri on the left and Charley on the right) attended the Christel House Academy in Indiana from first grade through senior year in high school where they developed valuable skills and received guidance with college applications.
Charley worked with AmeriCorps, where she helped teenagers get back into high school, before she began attending Indiana University to study non-profit management. For her, being at both golf tournaments helped put a face to the support behind Christel House.
"I was inspired to find who cared enough to donate to an organization that provided me with a laptop to work on homework outside of school, or helped me buy books I couldn't afford while in college," she said.
Zicri is majoring in Marketing/Tourism at Indiana University-Purdue and during her internship with Grand Pacific Resorts focused on event planning and the guest experience.
She assisted the event and wedding team at Seapointe's sister resort, Grand Pacific Palisades Resort & Hotel.
